Doghmous honey comes from Euphorbia resinifera, a cactus-like plant that only grows on the dry slopes of the Moroccan Atlas. The bees visit its small yellow flowers at the end of summer, when little else is in bloom, which is why the harvest is small and the honey so sought-after.
A honey with character
Its colour is amber to dark brown and its taste is strong, with a warm, peppery finish that tickles the throat. Many Moroccan families keep a jar at home for the winter and take it by the spoon, pure or in a warm drink.
From our hives, untouched
Our jars are filled straight from the extractor: no heating, no filtering beyond a simple sieve, nothing added. What you taste is exactly what the bees made.
